Poorly Burger

Whilst having a good look round my 650 burger after noticing spongy brakes i found a fork seal leak as in oil everywhere including disks and pads i also noticed the front of the radiator was solid with crap both rear shocks were damp with oil rear pads about worn out and microswitch for the rear brake lever US so i set to and cleaned everything up ready to order the parts etc and found most of the radiator fins missing!! So i passed it over to VFM Scooters in Thornaby who have done a lot of of work on my old X9 so i know they are good and gave them the job of stripping it down, it needs pads all round 2 x fork seals front 2 x rear shock/springs for the rear and radiator recore, they are doing a service whilst they are at it so there goes my savings for this year

its not going to be cheap i know but i got it cheap....probably Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£1000 cheaper than its worth so swings and roundabouts etc, i think its just turned 30,000 miles but it has endured the cumbrian weather for years and most of the commute that the last owner did was to a remote school in the lakes so lots of chippings and farm roads.

I have a pair of rear shock that have only done 7.5k if you want to buy them?,may make a big bill rather smaller.

Can you pm me a price including p&p for them please ? I fell off my chair when they told me how much genuine ones were so I'm looking at a set of aftermarket ones.
Anybody had a radiator recore done on a bike before? Again the quote I got from motorcool was crazy even vfm who are doing the work said its too much.

If the temperature is staying within normal limits, why bother doing anything with the radiator...?

That's a good point, if it's not leaking and still doing it's job, save your money for the essential bits
