More fun from Scooter Station.....
http://www.scooter-station.com/Comparat ... uvrez.html
A video look round of the TMax, C600, SRV and Integra. Worth watching for the differing sounds the scoots make at the beginning! TMax - gruff, C600 deeper, SRV even gruffer, Integra - weedy! Also has a tour of the luggage compartments - the SRV's looks bigger than expected.
No commentary (so no French to understand) but they do rather over use the trendy electro-metal music sound track....

Re: Maxi Scoot comparison video
According to MCN - you know, that completely accurate purveyor of news, whose fingers are right on the pulse of the scooter market - Honda and Suzuki are going to bring out updated versions of the Silverwing and big Burger to compete with the BMW / Tmax etc. On the one hand, its about time, but what they are basing that on I have no idea!chrisp wrote:Great link MrGrumpty and all bikes I'd like to own, just the burgman 650 missing. I hope too that both Honda and Suzuki will get into the sport maxi market. More competition is always good.
As for the TMax 750, we can only dream.

"sport maxi" is an interesting label
I'm more in the market for "touring maxis" or preferably practical maxi

Re: Maxi Scoot comparison video
I was very surprised at the SRV 's top speed of only 115 mph (185kph) unless they only ran the test over a 1 mile strip ?
Tmax 530 was 168 kph which is only 104 mph
BMW 600 Sport was 177 kph = 110mph
Honda Integra 169 kph = 105 mph !
Wonder if those flashing led on the sidelights are standard on the BMW ?
Several people on youtube show around the 178 kph top speed for a Burg 650 , so same as BMW, BUT......
Some guy has added a Power commander and changed air filters on his burgman 650 and got it to over 200 kph which is 124mph
Speedo shows higher but this comment is below: "It took him 18 sec to complete one kilometer. So that makes 55,5 meters per sec and that is 200 kilometers per hour"

Re: Maxi Scoot comparison video
I guess the main answer is that you need an awful lot of power to increase speed by not a lot, when you get into 3 figure speeds. Gearing may play a part, but aerodynamics become very important. The SRV has 15bhp more than the BMW, which although it is 25% more, isn't a huge amount more to push all that wind aside. Interestingly, the Integra has 4 or 5 more bhp than the TMax, and despite looking quite narrow (though heavier), only gives 1 more mph. Perhaps the DCT isn't that efficient after all.R1K SU wrote:I was very surprised at the SRV 's top speed of only 115 mph (185kph) unless they only ran the test over a 1 mile strip ?

Sport maxi is not written in stone. But if forced the TMax could be labeled as "sport" and the Burgman as "touring".Bluebottle wrote:"sport maxi" is an interesting label

TBH I do find the TMax practical enough for my needs. Though I understand that is not the case for everybody.

There again, I never found the Burger that much more comfortable than the TMax - though the extra luggage space is of course very useful on holiday!MjW wrote: Sport maxi is not written in stone. But if forced the TMax could be labeled as "sport" and the Burgman as "touring".
