burgman dark grey plastics

Post by Flanker37 »

hi folks, does anyone know of a suitable paint that matches the dark grey plastics on my burger k4.

i bought it with holes drilled into the 2 top glove boxes, which i have filled in with model putty, but now want to paint over it

Surely you can order it from your dealer. Mine can get paint for most Burgmans in touch up sticks. There are two pack paint sticks at £12 direct from Suzuki. This includes the base paint, and clearcote too.
Probably not ugly enough for the 'Ugly Bunch'!

Data, it isn't the painted areas he's painting. Its the grey/black plastics.

Ah...sorry! Painting plastic can be tricky I've found. But it can be done as you obviously know. I don't know if suzi do the necessary paint, but I doubt it. Most car accessory shops sell the paint for plastic bumpers and the undercoat etching primer too, and in various colours. Can't be sure if you would get a good colour match. It has to be worth a visit to Halfords and places like that though. Good luck.

I'm going to see if I can get a couple of small Suzuki logo water based decal or stickers with permanent adhesive

I think that's a much better idea flankers. There are also stick on carbon fibre look kits. These can be bought from most motorcycle dealers and are just sheets of different size black carbon sheets. They are very sticky and last forever pretty much. You could easily cover the tops of the lids with that and I think it would look very smart.
