So how long have you owned your Maxi?
Do (or did) you keep it for a certain period before changing?
Or do you just keep it until it goes wrong big time?
Or simply repace it with a newer model? (ie Mk2 to Mk3 Tmax)
So far I've owned my GTS 250 from new since June 2008 and plan to keep it until
it completely falls apart. Though i'm tempted by the New GTS 300 coming out soon.

Re: Length of Ownership
I have owned my PCX since October 2010 and expect to keep it until at least the spring of 2014 when I intend to change it for a 300-400 maxi.

Re: Length of Ownership
Suzuki Burgman 400 (AN400X) - 2.5 years bought cheap (£1k) on EBay and sold as it was getting worn out (£800), it taught me I needed a maxi-scoot
Piaggio X8 400 - 2 years bought new from JTs but bargain basement price (£3299) intending to keep longer but wife decided to join in so changed to
Suzuki Burgman 650 (K3) - 2 years bought "accidentally" from EBay (£2k) should've investigated more to realise it's best to avoid K3/K4, it went bang last Nov so now sharing a 125 with my son.

Re: Length of Ownership
I've had the TMax mk3 for around 3 years now....which is quite long for me. I had my mk2 for over 3 years until it got written off in a major prang. I've had the baby Burger for around 15 months now, since the SH300 also got written off..........
Between the TMaxs was a mk1 Tmax which I had for a year as a stop gap, a Pan European that lasted around 4 weeks, and a Burger 650 which I gradually fell out of love with.
Its quite random actually, I tend to swap when I stop liking them or trusting them.

Re: Length of Ownership
I had a 50cc scooter for a year to get some riding experience and have bought a Honda S-Wing a few weeks ago. I'm loving the S-Wing and plan on keeping it for a few years as I don't plan on getting my full licence, so cant get any bigger!

Re: Length of Ownership
I've ridden a bunch of different motorcycles over the years, most lasting two or three years before I tired of them. I changed over to scooters and rode a Chinese 150cc for two and a half years until it blew up last spring. But it taught me how to maintain and wrench a scooter as opposed to a motorcycle. I bought an old Elite 250 as a project but gave up and sold it after a couple of months and picked up my Burgman 400 K4 last summer. I've put over 7,000 miles on since and plan to keep it for at least another couple of years. We'll see.
