Honda UK have had the bike for 2 weeks but can't find the cause of the fault.
They have offered to buy the bike off me, we are negotiating.

I agree with John. At least though they're admitting there's a problem.

Re: Honda SH300 engine stalling problem latest news
That's what I was thinking, but what would you have from Honda's current UK range?
They don't have any other mid capacity scooters.

Re: Honda SH300 engine stalling problem latest news
I'd say get the best you can from them and go for a Beverley 350 instead.
The bizarre thing about the stalling is that some owners have reported it happening only after the "repair" has been done. I must say that after reading the various posts I would advise anyone thinking of getting a Sh300, whether new or old, to look elsewhere. And in the UK I think the only obvious competitor is the Bev.

The Honda SH300 2011 (new model) does not stall.
I think the problem is not the ECU or control valve, I think it's the clutch.
Honda have flown in engineers to inspect the bike.
I read this on MCN website recently.

SH300 ECU change
I ride a 4-year old SH300, with 12,000 miles. I changed the ECU following Honda's recommendations. I can confirm what TeddyScooter is saying: the engine stalls in the same way as before the replacement. Stalling can occur on slowing down to about 10/15 mph when the cluth becomes disengaged. The SH300 is such an outstanding scooter that I forgive this handicap. Riding a two-wheeler greatly increases the risk of injury or fatal accident anyway.

Re: Honda SH300 engine stalling problem latest news
Sorry, but I could not put up with the high risk of this happening, not given how many traffic lights there are in London. If someone else thinks this is acceptable, well good luck to them. I think they'll need it.
If the 2011 model does not do it, why not simply fit to the old model whatever parts were changed on the 2011 model?
But what bothers me is that I don't recall seeing reports of this fault coming out until more than a couple of years after the Sh300 came out. Could it simply be that it might be too early for the problem to surface on scooters only just over a year old?

Was there not a model revamp of the SH300 a couple of years ago, maybe that was when the problems started occurring?
As for competitors, the Bev isn't the only one, Aprilia have the Sportcity 300 at the very reasonable price of £3300
