Hello everyone,

i used to haunt the PBmagforum (under same name) but had a bit of a do with a trumpet, anywho circs have changed and with my car dying (it left a very nice burn mark on my wrist to remember it by) and now liveing just outside london a scooter seems to be an option cos i can't cycle more then 60 miles per week :) , so i may be coming back onto 2 wheels-although very wobblyish and still not sure.
test rode the X10 around vauxhall and quite liked it but have italian nightmares from my alfa days, liked the majesty but the wifes a short arse and didn't like sitting on the back although the colour was nice, so possibly a burgman 400.

question- secondhand or new? seen 20000 millers 4 yrs old are they worth it or just plump for a new one with no bills for a couple or years?

cheers

Hello widdy and welcome to the forum. I have two Burgmans a 650 and 400, the 400 K8 (58) model has 30k with full dealer service history (they changed the belt etc at the 14.5k point) and still runs great. High mileage can be a concern but if you get them cheap enough with a dealer stamped service history then give it a consideration. If you can afford a new or younger model then go for it, there are some good examples to buy on the auction sites and the rumour is a new 400 (Twin) is due next year?

Hello Widdy

I'm well pleased with my B400

I went the middle route and bought a new but registered one that had been stood in a showroom for 6 months.
Still new, but cheaper :)

Hi Widdy and welcome. icon_wink-.gif Wales.gif
400 Burger is a great scooter, new or nearly new with a big saving is the way to go.

Don't want to put you off, but I had a Burgy 400, and Mrs B wasn't comfy on the pillion. (She's one of the shorter versions too!!)
She found it a bit of a stretch getting her feet on the rests, made her legs ache. Much happier with the Silver Wing, (got footpegs), but that might be a bit big/heavy for starting off with.
As I grow older, my mind doesn't just wander......sometimes it buggers off completely!!

Hello and welcome. Go for thw X10 they are amazing. Great style, great performance, the traction control and ABS are worthwhile additions.
