I like the 0-60 times at under 4 secs and it's got plenty of power. In fact way too much for the claimed market of commuters doing 11~ mile (total) commutes a day. That's where the plus points end though.
Like you say, it's too expensive.
It's not at all practical (seeing as this is being marketed as a commuter in the blurb) - no storage, no room for pillion, nowhere to put top box/panniers, no weather protection. No ABS either which is a shocker for a bike of this price. And chain drive.
Li-ion batteries are not at all eco friendly as the heavy metals are dug out of huge polluting open cast mines.
Also how well is a li-ion battery going to work in the cold weather we've been having as they don't perform as well in the cold?
And the cost of a replacement battery in 3 years will be extortionate.
As a toy it looks like it would be amazing fun and they should market it as such
But a a realistic alternative to a cheap commuter bike, no way not even close and with an 112 mile claimed maximum range (or 58 miles "highway" range) it would be pretty crap for most Sunday rideouts too.
Still perfect for the smug Prius crowd though
