I saw a bike on the road today which completely baffled me. It looked like straight out of a sci-fi movie set. I think i found it now, and it really does look weird...

http://www.agilitymotors.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Specs are not that bad though:

0-60 in 3.9 sec
80mph top speed
112 miles range in the city
all electric

shame it's price is even more shocking than it's shape... close to 17k inc vat    These tree huggers are really on a roll aren't they... Make it 5k and i'll think about it... muppets

I like the 0-60 times at under 4 secs and it's got plenty of power. In fact way too much for the claimed market of commuters doing 11~ mile (total) commutes a day. That's where the plus points end though.

Like you say, it's too expensive.

It's not at all practical (seeing as this is being marketed as a commuter in the blurb) - no storage, no room for pillion, nowhere to put top box/panniers, no weather protection. No ABS either which is a shocker for a bike of this price. And chain drive.

Li-ion batteries are not at all eco friendly as the heavy metals are dug out of huge polluting open cast mines.
Also how well is a li-ion battery going to work in the cold weather we've been having as they don't perform as well in the cold?
And the cost of a replacement battery in 3 years will be extortionate.

As a toy it looks like it would be amazing fun and they should market it as such 8-)

But a a realistic alternative to a cheap commuter bike, no way not even close and with an 112 mile claimed maximum range (or 58 miles "highway" range) it would be pretty crap for most Sunday rideouts too.

Still perfect for the smug Prius crowd though :D

Us tree huggers get a lot wierder than that :D .....and in my case a lot cheaper and without the Li-ion too

And now and again we go completely over the top ape-shit at 216 mph :ugeek:

That cruiser looks cool, is that a concept or a working vehicle?

Its a working vehicle commisioned by Semens, fabrication by OCC and been ridden

There is a "home-build" community that convert smokers and/or build from scratch too, some really wild stuff. the direct non-controller bikes are frighteningly quick off the line.
