I got to work OK yesterday, home time came and the battery was as flat as a fart. RAC to the rescue, their response time was fantastic, I waited about 10 minutes and the 'road angel' turned up. I suspected that the under seat light had remained on all day thus draining the battery. Well RAC hero hooked it up to his jump start equipment and it started on the button. He pulled out the offending bulb for me as I can't really see the point of it anyway. The battery has been on my Optimiser all night and is fully charged so I've risked using it for work again today, as an optimist I am sure that the under seat bulb was to blame........watch this space!
Interestingly the RAC man was a biker, Yamaha R1, he told me he didn't use it much, his wife wouldn't climb onto the pillion and he has kids, which I presume means he doesn't want to die! He says he tends to ride to a local cafe, have a drink and go home again! His R1 has been holed up in the garage all winter, a mate next door has a Gixer which has not seen sunlight since November either. I am very happy I swapped my bike for the scooter, it gets used all the time and I am much more relaxed about using two wheels which I love. I tried my best to convert RAC man and suggested he has a look at a 650 Burgman if he wants to keep a bit of power, perhaps wifey will ride with him again, who knows. Fingers crossed on the Majesty!

Re: Majesty broken down!
Yes, it was charging, in fact we left it ticking over for about ten minutes whilst it was hooked up to his jump leads and when he took them off there was enough power in the battery to start the scooter after we'd turned it off. It seemed fine this morning, the green charged lamp on the optimiser was glowing and there seemed plenty of go in the starter motor. I keep looking out of the window as I can see the scooter and the red immobiliser light is flickering brightly as it should so fingers crossed.

If you need the underseat light get a LED one. They wont flatten the battery if left on overnight.

Thanks Taipan, I will check that out but I can live without the light for now. I was very surprised how small the bulb was, it made a Christmas tree bulb look big and bulky!

I Though about a switch, then wondered if it's worth the effort, at the end of the day I can't see how a non-illuminating luggage compartment is going to seriously effect my life detrimentally!

Re: Majesty broken down!
If I can find one I will probably put an LED bulb in, apparently it's a subminiature wedge fitting! Could be painful.
