ive been thinking a while of getting a bigger engined scooter ,
i looked at a burgman ,in in petrol station today ,a 400 ,but i reckon it would be too heavy for me
especially pushing around my yard,,they seem a lot bigger rthan the Evo,
i find my GTS300 heavy when having to push it around yard,
but when i tried the evo took it of stand it def seemed easier ,
might just be me
bigger scooter

Re: bigger scooter
The Burger 400 is listed at 222kg, way heavier than the aforementioned Honda SH300 at 165. Mine, the Piaggio Beverly 350 ST, is listed at 173. These are so-called "kerb" weights.
The Vespa 300 GTS is shown as only 148 but "dry". Add in the lubes and cooling fluid to make it comparable and it's probably nearer 153 or so. Interestingly then, despite what you say, it appears to be amongst the lightest of the 300 class by some distance. The fact that you find it relatively heavy to push is probably something to do with the way the weight is distributed.
I dislike heavy machines as well and the SH300 was my second choice if I'd decided the Bev was not for me.

Could you not get hold of a bike turntable? , I had one When I had my xmax round the back of my flat, providing you have enough room to turn around http://www.driveawaymat.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: bigger scooter
Sound idea... from the link, and other searched content, i've pulled these links forward...
a How to: http://www.gadgetjq.com/motorcycle_turntable.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and a 12" Lazy Susan Bearing: http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/produc ... s_id=42341" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - £15.30...
Not gonna have the room to spin a scoot or bike all the way round in the garage, but maybe ideal for turning 45 degs for maintenance tasks etc..
I'd probably just go for the bearing between two circular bits of ply or a chequer plate top if available...

Yeah...not to mention the lack of comfort & space. Great engine though.....ridinhigh wrote:i would not buy a SH300,i dislike its looks ,i think its a horrible looking scooter,

Didn't feel that light actually, whilst my baby Burger 200 feels very light....but that may be in comparison to the TMax!
