Hi guys, just to let you know I traded my 2008 Honda SH300 in for a new Honda CB500X in extreme red. I love the new bike, only done 100 miles so far. The SH300 was a hoot to ride and own and made two trips to Ireland this year without a hiccup, but it was time to change and I did consider a larger capacity maxi, but the lure of the new Honda 500 series was too tempting, plus I got a great deal on the SH300, in fact I traded it in for more than I paid for it two years ago.
I have enjoyed reading and posting on this forum. Cheers.

I am just breaking it in at the moment, but I am not hanging about either. It has plenty grunt, I had the demo bike at 90 and it had more to offer. The onboard computer is reading a return of 64 m.p.g.
I think it is a lot of bike for the price and the finance on offer at the moment from Honda can't be beat.

As above, i have had mine a week now and first tank gave 74mpg a bit down on that on tank 2
plenty of grunt for a little un and can be chucked around like a 250.
I will make some pull backs and raisers as the bars are just not right for me..Made a light bar and mounts and have fitted my LED lamps, just waiting for the Honda acc loom to arrive to power them up. Tis a cracking little bike for the money and as with the ugly scoot service intervals are 8000miles..
Lyn.

What's the service schedule like on the new CB500 range and are the valves shims or screw and locknut?

What an upgrade, and from what you say about the trade in it was an offer one couldn't refuse!

Brakes too have enough pull for a little lite weight 500 Ow! has ABS as standard to..eat your heart out Yamaha
Parts are not too steep either, i bought a centre stand for it £79
not bad for a Honda part. I no they are not Made in Japan but seems to tick all the boxes, stainless nuts and bolts were it matters on the outside and full stainless exhaust system.
Not at all bad for a couple of hundred less than 5 grand.
Lyn. Ow! one thing i don't like...for me the bars are not right,,i need to up and back about 20mm. That will be testing on my engineering abilities as not a lot of room to play with as the tank gets in the way
