Greetings fellow muppets.
Long-time rider planning to dip my toes into the maxi scoot waters. Still researching various scoots and comparing specs. While I could get by with anything motorway-capable (i.e., at least 150cc) for my shortish commute, since this will serve as my one and only bike (just sold my Bonny) I'd also like something for heading out to the mountains and extended runs on the superslab.
Anyway, appreciate all the great info here and hope to contribute before long.
Ride safe
Curtis

I'm just outside of Blighty...in Tokyo to be precise.
Owww, get one of those custom, lo-rider, stretched, Manga styled scooters with lots of LEDs that are so popular in Japan.

Re: Hello!
No hard and fast rule and other opinions are held, but generally you'd be looking at 300/400cc for solo distance use and 500cc+ for 2-up work.
You can do 2-up with a 250 if you want, but if you have distance to cover and want the ability to use Motorways then bigger is better (X9 500, Silverwing, Burger 650)

Re: Hello!
You mean like this Burger 250? I'm not really into the blingy bling bling look, but never say never...JohnR93 wrote:Owww, get one of those custom, lo-rider, stretched, Manga styled scooters with lots of LEDs that are so popular in Japan.
Yep, I'm thinking along the same lines. 300cc would be perfect for me considering the planned ratio of city-to-motorway use (all 1 up), but due to the way bikes are classified here, it's either 250cc or 400cc and up.poldark wrote:but generally you'd be looking at 300/400cc for solo distance use and 500cc+ for 2-up work.

Planning to take a Forza 250 out for a spin later this week.
