Test ride a Forza at Preston Honda.

Post by ba249k »

Preston Honda have now got a Forza Demo bike.
I've just booked a test ride for Tuesday ( weather permitting ).
I not thinking of changing the Burgman just yet, and I've told them that.
I think they are just desperate for sales, so I'll go on their books as interested!
Anyway it's a couple of hours for me having a blast on something else!
I'll report back.

Its a good machine for medium to long-ish range commuting, but wouldn't be much use as a two up tourer.
Mine has commuted over three thousand miles since September at an average of 78mpg.

They seem a _very_ good price and a very safe bet. I liked the one I sat on at the NEC, especially the optional big screen and super topbox.

£4.5k for a 300 with ABS and Honda backup - probably my next ride.

By the time you add box and screen it would be nearer five grand.

I have just got back from my test ride on the Honda Forza.
Wow!, Super smooth and with plenty of power on tap makes my Burgman seem a bit agricultural.
A lot lighter than the Suzuki and so it's more manoeuvrable. The excellent smooth power delivery and handling makes it fun to ride around town.
I took out on to the A roads and it has plenty of power to accelerate up pass 70 with no trouble at all.
A lovely looking scoot especially in white. There's bags of room under the seat and in the storage boxes, more than my old Pantheon and is on a par with the Burgman.
In standard form I found it a lot colder to ride than the Burgman (Dec 19th) with not as much wind protection and hardly any screen over 50mph I was being blown off I ended up crouching down behind what little screen there is like a teenager!
For me it would need all the extras large screen, hand guards and heated grips.
So all in all and excellent bike but more for short commuting and thrashing around town than for longer commutes and touring.
I'll be sticking with my Burgman for now and if I was moving to a Honda it would be the Silverwing for me.
So if you are in the area there is a great little bike to have a test ride on at Northwest Honda in Preston. Enjoy!

Yes, this is what EVERYONE who's ridden it says! Great scoot, shame about the tiny screen! Well, it was designed in Thailand where protection from cold weather is not something they may be very clued up on!!!

Not everyone, so far (3000+ miles) it suits me in standard trim.
There's a few on the roads up here where cold weather is the norm but I haven't seen one fitted with a big screen yet.

Probably just too tight-fisted to pay the £96 Honda are charging...
