Stand or fall over

Post by c4aok »

Having ridden MP3s for years the concept of a bike stand and inclines has not troubled me.

After buying a gp800 today I would be very grateful for any advice on using parking bays etc and when to use the main stand as opposed to the side stand. I am scared of playing bike dominos :(

I normally lock the mp3 suspension dismount and push it back into the parking bay. Do I back pedal the two wheeler or dismount.

Security has also not bothered me in recent years do I need to reassess.

If space is tight I use the centre stand, side stand is reserved for more spacious parking IME.
You'll be fine, just make sure you have enough space to do what you intend to and be aware of your surroundings when surrounded by parked bikes :)

Ever read sir issac newtons theory, :) , mainstand when possible, sidestand on level ground. Dont park too close to anything, avoiding the nudge factor. ;)
Im not a gynecologist, but I dont mind taking a look.

Actually given difficulties of parking in london I will just be grateful to park.

The size does worry me because the mp3 is super easy to mount and dismount. I am keeping the mp3 for time being.

OUCH!!! Steve .with regards to posting ? if you are going to be a regular user of the side stand just remember to train yourself about the hand brake and actually test the handbrake regular to see it is working . I have a disability to my leg and i can put the srv/gp on its centre stand fairly easy . paddling backwards i would avoid this will be an accident waiting to happen

Unless you have the Piaggio X10 whose handbrake is activated by the side stand.
