I was chatting to a chum today and we got around to how many accidents we've had. 'Accidents' where we've actually come off the bike/scoot and rolled/bounced along the road. In the last 28 years I've had none. I've had many scary moments but never actually come off. (Push bikes (and skateboards

) however are a different story. I used to have a BMX and after seeing the film "ET" (1982) we tried to recreate the chase. Although I did go flying, ET wasn't there to prevent me landing on my face, breaking a tooth and cracking a rib. Oddly I sustained similar injury's a few years later playing rugby, but that's a different story.)
I'd been classed as 'cautious' when growing up, but the people who called me that were "nutters" in my book!
(You know what they say, if you wanna
look thinner - stand next to a fatter person.

)
I kid myself that my sense of self preservation is better now than it's ever been. Or are the odds now heavily stacked against me?
So, have you been as 'lucky'? Or have you had more than your fair share of 'offs'?

If you want to be incrementally better: Be competitive. If you want to be exponentially better: Be cooperative.
