ABS Valve For 50cc to 125cc Scoots Without ABS Already

Just thought i would post this, and yes i know its not a substitute for a scoot with abs...but not sure if would be of interest to the mini muppets and scoots up to 125cc .. could be useful on the front brake, and not much money to try a pulsating valve, should think it works on regards to brake fluid pressure

i just thought to make a comment on seeing it advertised for sale, seems easy to fit , so if i had a 50cc or 125cc scoot id buy one to try it out

That just looks like some form of pressure relief valve to me, so I don`t know how effective it would be. I thought that "proper ABS" monitored the wheel rpm electronically, and relieved the brake pressure momentarily as it was about to lock up?

thats very true.. i would not know either, your thoughts are correct regarding

the detail in the listing states: Fitting this part to the calliper will help prevent your wheel from locking and skidding on wet / icy / greasy surfaces. The valve inside pulsates under braking stopping the rider clamping the brake on which could cause the bike to skid, recommended for any rider, particularly those who frequently ride in winter or wet conditions.

so it would be an aid to stop you folding the front in the conditions listed, or stop locking the front brake under "instant decision making"

I already have a pressure regulator in my hand.
With no sensor direct at the wheel and comparatively slow reactions, but at least adjustable to circumstances. (Usually) My hand can do a reasonable stop on dry tarmac as well as on snow & ice.
Imho this ebay device can't brake appropriate on different surfaces, because it has no input from them.

These are not really ABS as you know it. Proper ABS uses electronic sensors to check if the wheel is locked/ing or not.
They then relieve the pressure so that its just below locking up but still providing the maximum braking effort possible.
Probably more technical than that but this is a simplified explanation of ABS.

These Valves are common on 'ABS' Chinese bikes. All they do is limit the maximum amount of pressure of the brakes to prevent locking...
Whilst also potentially reducing the effectiveness of the brake compared to actual ABS or even non ABS brakes. I would not want one of
these valves on my bike at all.
