I have a subscription to MCN like it most when Val is in his stride and what is nice is they are having articles on big twins rather than just high performance plastic rockets.

Now that the harley is going to be outed and eventually replaced with a burgman for versitility
I can not see a publication that shows the scoot.

Never see it in MCN and looking at scooter publications nothing in there other than the clasic type scoot.

It makes. Me wonder what is this alien machine if it's not a scoot or a bike ?

Get Twist and Go very good mag for modern scooters with photos and good write ups and reviews,it's out six times a year.

Have a look before you commit to a subscription Fatboy, last time I saw a copy of T&G it was drivel - bland, pointless reviews and most of the articles were aimed at the 'ped riding, tracky wearing yoof.

Just look at in the shop if you don't like the look of it don't buy it you don't need to subscribe.

I think that the comics are running out of things to write about as far as 'normal' riders are concerned, I haven't bought one for years. I used to get Motorcycle Sport and leisure but even that is too predictable and the readers questions are posed by people who have never heard of Google even though they can e-mail !!

I totally agree with you Meldrew and think the best scoot reviews are actually on here and our european scooter forums . The only mags i get these days are classic motorcycle mechanics and the free motorcycle monthly paper . Magazines such as _ide etc imho are just reproducing mcn articles in a more glossy manner .

I don't think Twist & Go is "drivel" or "utter shite" at all. I've had it on subscription for years. I quite like it.
The 100th edition has some good product reviews. It does have a general look about it now, because they have to cover a broad range from 50cc upwards including small motorcycles. You won't get a mag just aimed at old blokes on scooters.
You'd never please any of them anyway.
I'm sure the Twist &Go people would welcome some contributions from more experienced scooterists.
Why not send something off to them?

I have only bought the one copy Nov/Dec but to me it's helped me join this club/forum the reviews of the Maxi scoot special thought it was quite interesting,can't please everybody I suppose but I will get the next edition and see how it goes.

Meldrew is right Twist and Go has lost its way. I subscribed for 12 months after the first two issues it just went downhill with no reference to maxi scoots and as much as I tried I could find nothing of interest.

I don't know anything about old blokes on scooters - I've never met Meldrew - but I struggle with the idea that anyone over the age of 17 could find something to love in T&G. But each to their own I guess

I have almost no interest in bike magazines these days. The only current thing I read regularly is the Riders Digest, which is only now coming out of a period of dormancy after being pretty much silent throughout 2014, largely because what's written in there is by real people who ride and look after their own bikes. I loved the ethos of the old UMG and still enjoy flicking through the back issues when I get time - stuff written by 'proper' bikers as opposed to journalists, people who were often running their machines on the tightest of budgets. Sadly there's nothing like that nowadays - it's all about what's newest and fastest, and people complaining about how expensive main dealer servicing is.

In the absence of anything decent to read I'd rather go and ride somewhere with my mates, and then take our pictures in a car park somewhere
