Best 2005 Yamaha Tmax Tyres?
Very satisfied 2005 Yamaha Tmax owner but getting to the last rubber of Bridgestone Battlax tyres. Which tyres (Front and Rear) are considered best Tmax choice for mostly short distance rides in a city environment, available in Sydney NSW Australia? All Tmax tyre tales, ideas & opinions are appreciated ... Ric

welcome ric the battlax TH01 has been superseded with the bridgestone SC and there`s a newer SC ECOPIA which has 15% less rolling resistance http://www.bridgestone.co.uk/moto/range ... sc-ecopia/
I cant seem to remember.. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way.

15% less rolling resistance eh? Does that mean it's 15% more likely to skid?

Welcome Ric
I've had Bridgestones on 3 different Tmax's.
But a month before Christmas, I did put put metzeler feelfree wintec on my mk2, for our cold/ wet weather but not found them to be great.
I'll go back to Bridgestones

I have used all brands and must say the michelins offer the best wet weather grip . The power pure worked great . However I am trying the golden tyres atm which are on paper very good value .

Has anyone tried Pirelli Diablos? Not entirely happy with BT010 in the damp and slime...but then it is damp and slimy!

Re: Best 2005 Yamaha Tmax Tyres?
I rode a friends MK3 with Pirelli Diablo and found the rear end to be squirrely in the dry... dread to think what it would be like in the wet. (500 miles on the tires, scrubbed in to the edges, correct pressure)
I am on Bridgestone BT's at the moment as that's what the new TMax (5 year old) came with... I don't want to chuck money away by just changing to SC's or SC Ecopia but on my first TMax when I got SC's it was so much better, they felt so much more planted.

The original bridgestones on my 08 mk3 were great and i could chuck it all over but i swapped them for michelins and the handling went crap and knocked my confidence, front always felt like it was going to washout on me, probably another reason why i sold it as i lost my mojo.
