Gears are overrated!

Post by scootabout »

Hi All

Just signed up. Moved from motorbikes (boxer BMW at the time) to scoots a few years ago. I was getting fed up with the agricultural gearbox on the BM, especially during winter in town. Never looked back and am on my second SH300 (first one was stolen in London). Love the easy riding and surprising motorcycle riders (especially sports bikes when they're in 'all the gear, no idea' mode).

Do a lot of touring - all over the UK, sometimes two up. Find the SH300 generally fast enough, great in towns and economical, apart from the short-ish service intervals. Would be interested in trying a Bev 350, but just seen that the SH300 has been re-introduced to the UK...

Having a clutch these days is like having a starting handle on a car - used to need one, know how to use one, don't want another.

Always seek the happy medium - she's out there, riding her scooter.
