Top boxes advice for a Burgman

Post by changy »

Ok, I basically don't live near any shops I can get to easily, and I'm pretty confused about top boxes. I've figured out I want a large box, something that could hold two helmets. It seems the monokey is the one I want.
But I can't tell what fitting I need and do I need to remove the back rest? If so do I need to get another piece of body work to fill the gap to then attach the mount?

And then am I restricted to one type of monokey top box, or do I pretty much have a choice of any monokey top box?
Thanks for your patience on my cluelessness and any help or advice you can provide is appreciated.

From when I had one: Yes, you have to remove the backrest and fit a Monokey mount then any Monokey box fits it. Nothing needed to fill the gap as the Monokey mount fits it utilising the backrest bolt holes. I had a Givi V46 on mine with a backrest and lights. Two helmets fitted into it. Just!
Paddle harder. I can hear banjo music!

Have a look at Shad. After 3 Givi topboxes on different bikes I got a Shad one for my Forza. And I prefer to to Givi.
