Hello everyone, As a 'silver scooterist' I've never done this before so I'm a little nervous and excited! I've just changed from motorbikes to a scooter, 2016 SH Mode 300i and I love it. The only problem is I find putting both feet down a tad of a stretch - I know I could put one down, as per motorbike, but, somehow, it feels odd! That is probably just me. Do you know if it is possible to lower the suspension on the new SHMode?

It's a bit of a scooter problem, unfortunately - the seats may be low, but the footboards are wide!
Usually they're so well balanced that tiptoes will do, but that doesn't help when trying to move it around...boots with the thickest soles possible can help.
If the rear suspension's adjustable, is it on its lowest preload?

Hi and welcome. Kawasaki saw this as an issue with the Kymco Downtown so when they adopted it as the J300 they put cut-outs in the footboards to help.

Obviously this is absolutely no use to you (apologies) so on a more practical note, I think it is usually possible to remove padding from the seat and so gain a little from there.

Hi, thank you for the interest. Wide footboards make short legs a little shorter! I've begun to wear my motorcycle boots which do have thicker soles and heels. My partner adjusted the suspension to its lowest preload, but, as you say, moving it can be a pain.
Do you know if it's possible to buy a replacement shock kit which would allow the suspension to be lowered by a further inch or two?

Well then you'll just have to swap the Honda for a J300. Obviously, everyone who has a Sh300 should anyway...

Hi. The problem of buying rear shocks that are shorter is you have to check under the seat area and to the rear air box inner side as lowering could cause issues with clearance. So advise checking first
