Out today on my '99 burger 400 and the speedometer suddenly stopped working

I believe its electric (as opposed to mechanical) so where do I start looking for a failed part. Is there a fuse?

Main failure is at the sensor mounted at the front wheel. The central rotor broke on mine. I'm fairly certain there is no fuse.

This happened on the 06 Burgman I used to have. Must be a bit of a weak point.
