Obviously the price will put it way out of my league. Even if that was not the case, oh my gawd, it's ugly.

On the upside, they know how to make an exhaust for a 400cc scooter (Hey- Yamaha, look here!) http://images.mcn.bauercdn.com/pagefile ... 0x-009.jpg

Good shot of the instrument panel, https://www.rushlane.com/photos/bmw-c-4 ... re-16.html

Loads more pics here: https://www.rushlane.com/bmw-c-400-x-sc ... 54724.html

Still, good to see them enter this part of the market.

From http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-new ... ss-scooter

HERE’S a surprise new offering from BMW, a mid-capacity maxi-scooter called the C400 X.

In fact a 350cc model despite the name, it uses a newly-developed single-cylinder engine to make a pretty healthy 34hp and 25.8lbft.

Road-ready weight is 204kg and it uses a continuously variable CVT automatic belt-drive transmission.

BMW says it will manage a top speed of 86mph.

It’s got a tubular steel frame with a 35mm fork and twin shocks, set to ‘ensure that sporty, dynamic riding fun is combined with a very high level of comfort,’ according to BMW.

There are twin front 265mm brake discs with four-piston floating calipers, and a single-piston caliper on the rear disc, of the same diameter.

ABS is standard equipment, as is BMW’s ‘Automatic Stability Control’ traction control system.

Other features include LED lighting, while a 6.5-inch full-colour TFT dash is available as an option.

The BMW C400 X was unveiled this morning at the Eicma motorcycle show in Milan.

BMW said in a press release: ‘But the new BMW C 400 X is not just a smart mid-size scooter designed to avoid constant urban traffic congestion and allowing faster movement through the traffic jungle from A to B: the new mid-size scooter also demonstrates that urban mobility can be a lot of fun, too. In short, the new BMW C 400 X transforms a ride into the city or to the workplace from a lowlight to a highlight: in fact instead of choosing a sensible shortcut, the rider will be tempted to take the long way round – purely for the extra riding fun.’

Looking at some of the detail photos, it has keyless ignition and nice clear switches for heated grips and seat on the handlebars.

Not sure if the switch under the keyless switch is for the seat opening or for a C600 Sport type droppable storage space though. Probably the former, I guess.

Found some details elsewhere. https://riders.drivemag.com/news/the-ne ... ze-scooter

Optionally you can add a 6.5 inch full-color TFT that features multiple functions. In combination with the BMW Motorrad Multi-Controller, you can connect with the scooter and perform various operations without being distracted from driving. You can connect your smartphone to the hi-tech dash and listen to your favorite music while traveling or make a phone call. You can also get indications from an arrow-based navigation trough the TFT screen.

The fuel tank can handle 12.8 liters of gas while the whole assembly unladen weight is 204 kg. BMW claims the windshield will offer superior wind protection and low wind noise. The under seat storage space can be extended downwards for extra room for your grocery store visits.

Only BMW could make a bike so ugly.
The "some off road ability" will help get away from the police when it's taken from it's new owner..
Sounds a bit negative that. Must be the weather.. :?

Lots of gizmos, which are frankly in most cases a mixed blessing, and plenty of power, but there's nothing particularly special or different about it, and I'm wondering why you'd buy one instead of a Burger 400 or Xmax - particularly as the Burger has a monoshock rather than the twin shock of the BMW.
