C125 tyres

Post by Andym »

If anyone has a source of Heidenau K66's in the annoying 70/90R17 and 80/90R17 sizes that the SuperCub takes I'd be grateful to know.

Or, anything knobblier than a Michelin City Extra?

Seems tyre choice on the SuperCub is highly limited, especially the front and most are basically slicks. These might work well on wet roads but are utterly useless on snow.

Heidenau are saying April for the next batch of K66's :(

Is there any chance of fitting CT125 tyres such as IRC OEM from the far east? Could be worth asking Seven Seas importers.

There is certainly better choice in the 2.25 and 2.5 but tubes add another level of pain. With the safety rim it makes roadside puncture repairs almost impossible and even considering it means carrying levers. For the sake of maybe 300 miles of snow against the 2000 or so when punctures are the biggest risk I'm going to stay tubeless.

I can never get on there. The moderators seem to be AWOL, or maybe I'm doing something wrong?

I've ordered Michelins. They are at least a block tread so will have some ability. My K66's might scrape through most of this winter, so run the Michelins over the summer and make sure I have stock for 25/26. If they wear faster on the last few mm we'll find out how good the Michelins are !

Cheers

Thank you @capitano. I gave up ages ago so you won't have seen anything recently. Just tried again as andym123 if that works.

The Michelins look good now they've arrived. I'll post a picture once post images is back online. A new Michelin is certainly going to be better than a worn K66.

Cheers
