Re: Which helmet to get.
Heine Gerricke had various Nolans available to test ride -very handy as you get to see how noisy it is wth your bike/aerodynamics and notice any pressure points. They would even let you bring it back the following day but I just did a half hour run.
I can't usually get a Nolan that fits me but the N90 did, I think it must be a different shape to their others. There is a cheaper version of the 90 without the pinlock but I can't remember if it uses the same or cheaper materials.

Re: Which helmet to get.
I had a HJC-12 which fit really well, but (and i didnt realise at the time) was noisy. My next was a Caberg V2, which was quieter but never fit so well, and after a couple of years the padding got even looser, and was probably not so good for a crash.gn2 wrote:Get the helmet which is most comfortable on your head, you need to try them out.
My current helmet is a Shoei XR1100, which i got on sale, and i went thru every single helmet at Infinity Motorcycles Clapham until i found one that fit "right". I hadnt wanted to spend so much (and in the end got it on sale anyway), but given it's essentially your airbag - rollcage - crumplezone i thought a bit more was worth it for a nominal decreased chance of brain damage in an accident.
It is very quiet compared to the HJC, and the pin-lock visor is amazing at never misting up - i highly recommend fitting one if you can!

I have the flip up Helmet from Lidl bought last year, been fine through this Winter, and they give a spare visor, all for less than £40. I wear open face when weather permits.

Re: Which helmet to get.
I have been using an open face this winter, with a visor,I just fancy a flip up for a couple of long trips, I want to get down to Dartmoor for a few days break,& across to France in the summer.
Well,that's the plan anyway!

Re: Which helmet to get.
I always go with Caberg as they fit my head best at that is the key thing. No good spending £600 on a brand that 'is the best' if your noggin is lose in any areas. I have tried a couple of different flip ups since my first ever full face but went back to full face as they are the most quiet.
