The Elec scoot looks reasonably useful with a top speed of 74mph and a 60 mile range, though I guess you won't get 60 miles at 74mph. But it comes back to first cost, no matter how cheap they are to run.

I don't work for BMW . But I was up at 5.30 every morning getting the press bikes up and ready for a 7 am Departure . I have a lovely T Max , have had 5 of the things and love them , but these things kick Ass . Nailing them round Canary Warf for the refuel , 7 of us all up for it was bloody good fun . They are the fastest Scoot I've ridden , none of them went wrong/broke down /needed any attention other than cleaning and the French/Italian /Spanish Loved them .The T Max is the bench mark for this kind of Scoot , and they reckoned it was C600 sport , T Max 530 ,Aprilla 800 then Honda Integra in that order as far as performance and everything else .The Burgman is not in this Catagory its a tourer for those that like comfort toys and useability. I had trouble keeping up on occasions on the GSA and I have been riding for 36 years !!! They are That good . I know its a lot of money , but it could be the only bike you need .The E bike is the Future like it or not , and it 's an absolute Beauty !! Try before you write it off , and expect a good trade in with BMW , I will PX my T max when I have test ridden one in my environment rather than the excitement of a launchThat is all.

I met a guy recently on a BMW GS 1150, he had ridden 130,000 miles on it over 8 years and loved it. He has owned BMWs for years and mentioned he was going to look for a big scooter as he was finding his bike a tad heavy now. I mentioned BMW had one coming out soon.... oh no he said I wouldnt buy a BMW now, they are too unreliable!

So, even the die hards might not buy one. As has been said... its way too expensive.

I imagine the profit margin is pretty large so its BMW trading on their reputation as a luxury brand and asking loadsa wonga.

My prediction , you'd all love them if you had a go . Price as in everything is negotiable .Is it because its a Beemer? .FFS at least try one , I'm not on the pay role , try one then tell me its not worth a punt. As far as I know I am one of the few of the general public to have a go on one .I am not an Alchemist , I am just giving you the heads up on THE new sport scooter.No wonder everyone is depressed and pissed off .life is for living , if you like it buy one if not fair enough enjoy your current bike ,I don't give a shit but I do love sport Scoots and this is a good one .

Did you see any improvement to the plastics that were commented on with the show bikes?

I think the high price is simply a product of lots of R&D and low volume sales rather than a high profit margin.

Plastics are good ,Nice in Blue or black on the C600 .It's like they have taken a T Max as the benchmark and improved it , Chain final drive Rather than a belt , hand brake comes on with the side stand down , which would have saved £3000 had my T Max had that when it was nudged over recently .Overall a quality Scoot . But as I have said have a look/try when the Olympics are over and the Canary Warf fleet are at the Dealers as Demo's.Guys I am just telling as I found !!!

I will have a ride on one for sure, and I bet itll be great. I loved the GT to be honest and even the sport looked alright but still way too expensive.
