I don't think anyone is saying its not fast or won't be a good ride but for that price compared to other 'top' scooters as well as BMW's apparent build quality issues it seems they may not shift many. Wouldn't mind a go on one myself though

The best bit about this thread is the interest its generated. 4 plus pages straight away. No matter what you think about BMW they are interesting new Scoots and if they sell great. If they maybe bring a few new riders onto Scoots because of the badge then also great. In the meantime I will be on my Burgman 650 which is fast, comfortable and great fun. By the time I come to want to change the bike then their will be some good experience about to base my choice on.

Talking of BMWs - MCN claim in today's issue that the scoots will finally be launched 'soon' after the Olympics are over, with Dealer events across the country, which sound like an opportunity for a test ride to me!

Paul Blezard's extensive review of the BMWs can be found in the new edition of The Riders Digest www.theridersdigest.co.uk

And somehow an Australian scooter website has got hold of the user manuals for both models!

Not just Suzuki, the Honda Silverwing desperately needs updating or at least give us the newer 600T. And, Piaggio give us the 500 X10 :D

Yes.....though I hope that Honda don't think that their work is done now that they've given us the dubious delights of the Integra!!! After all, if you wanted to do an updated Silverwing, where would you start? With the new 700cc and DCT gearbox.......

If you are desperate for an X10 500, I suppose you could always go across the sea to the nearest Piaggio dealer in France/Belgium/Netherlands and buy one there.
