Hello, just make sure the oil you buy has NO 'friction additives' in it, as it is these that make a wet clutch slip.
I use synthetic in mine but made for wet clutches.

Gears: - Halfords do a 10w/40 gearbox oil..

Both is what I used in the XMax250, and use in the new XMax400...

Car stuff IS NOT same as bike stuff!

Car engines do not push same oil through gearbox!

Different friction modifiers - well known in our industry

Your warranty WILL be invalidated and we do send oil samples to laboratories in the event of a suspect claim

Thanks

I know that Car and Bike oil differ... but the question was what to use in his XMax scoot...

I wouldn't use a Car oil in my Bike - due to friction modifiers in car oils and the bike having a wet clutch, and due to the 'shear' the oil would be subjected to from the gear box... - but in the scooter engine would be OK, and why i recomemded the gear box oil - rather than using the Car engine oil in the Tx...

The Halfords Bike oil has the same spec as the car oil - ACEA-A3 / API-SL... The Bike oil no longer carries the JASMO (No Friction Modifiers) Spec on the container.
