Thats it, in a nutshell.

Engine good.
Transmission good (well, at least until you have to adjust and oil a chain).

Pretty much everything else - WTF?
No door is closed to an open mind.
Except a closed door, which a mind can't open, but even a stupid hand can.

But the engine and clever gearbox are the most interesting things about it! If only they were in a package that made sense.
But the clever gearbox does nasty jerky changes and the original NC engine vibrates like a tractor.

Well, I've yet to ride one and see how what the reality is. I've seen mention in the mags that the latest version of the DCT box is rather smoother and more intelligent than the first version, though of course Honda may have told them to write that! Again, as for engine vibes, I'd have to see. I haven't seen many complaints about the N700's vibes. For me, the BMW with a vaguely similar engine arrangement was irritatingly vibey at low speeds but not an issue at high speeds, and made a nice noise in compensation! On my ride of the V-twin Deauville, I didn't find the vibes particluarly noticeable, though some people do.

These things are personal - I found the Burger 650's gearbox clunky when selecting a lower ratio eg after a junction (except in power mode), but no-one else has ever complained about this!

Very much so.
My ideal would be silky smooth and silent.

Slightly ashamed to admit it but I do quite like their looks with the luggage on, especially the new 750 version

I wonder if there's a bit more leg (knee) room on the newer model?

well, I got an exellent deal on a new 700 integra today( in black), no doubt my dealer wants rid of his three new 700's to make way for the 750's, and the price to change was way better than I was expecting. The integra is really a bike in scooter clothing, I find it really comfy, givi rack going on it, hopefully have it for next weekend.
